Summary
Out of the horrors of war comes a love story. It's England in World War Two. Bombs rain on London. On leave, Canadian pilot Gordon Devereaux escapes London for the quiet of Nottingham. There he meets local girl Wendy Barlow and they fall in love. But then Gordon is suddenly transferred to the Pacific and never sees Wendy again. Wendy dies in 2008, having never revealed Gordons's identity to her son, Donald, or her granddaughter, Claire. But a letter discovered after Wendy's funeral unveils clues to the secret that becomes journalist Claire's mission, to find Gordon in Canada and to interview him. But if she meets him and reveals Wendy's secret, will he accept the family that he never knew he had or just reject them? Based on a story of one of 25,000 children born to foreign servicemen in England in World War Two, this film follows a family trying to find a father who never knew they existed
